Primary Enterprise's Contribution


The Primary Enterprise programme is one of the projects involved in the North Staffordshire Regeneration Zone, which was the 2007 National Winner of the Enterprising Britain award.

Martin Wyn Griffith (CEO of the Small Business Service and Chairman of the judging panel of Enterprising Britain 2007) praised the North Staffordshire Regeneration Zone and Primary Enterprise Project, stating that "The Regeneration Zone has acted as a catalyst to deliver economic regeneration and transformational initiatives. The judges were particularly impressed by the community engagement of the project....." and went on to say "The emphasis on enterprise education, including projects in local primary schools was also excellent".

Martin Wyn Griffith identified the Primary Enterprise Programme as "a model of best practice" as part of the North Staffordshire winning bid at the finals of the Enterprising Britain contest held at Lloyd's of London in September 2007.

Educational innovations such as the Primary Enterprise scheme has contributed to the increase in Enterprise across the North Staffordshire Region.
